This was one of the funniest things that has ever happened to me at Columbus Market.  Trust me, there have been alot of hysterical moments that are hard to top!!!

As we were going down the last row I saw a birdcage.   It was an unusual shape and in fair condition.   I don’t have a bird but thought it would be a great display piece for Jersey Made so I inquired about it.   (Ok -inquired might be too ‘high tech’ a word for referring to Columbus but…..)      So it was $10 but they would let me have the birdcage for $7.    We were almost done so I knew I wouldn’t have to carry it for too long and the price was right, so I pulled out a $20 and paid for the birdcage.

Happily I went on carrying my birdcage past the next dealer.   The next dealer after that had a birdcage stand – imagine that!   So of course I put my birdcage up on the little hook inside the stand and it was perfect!   This guy came over and said the stand was $150 but I could have it for $100.   WOW – way too much money for me!!!   So I removed my birdcage from the overpriced stand and was ready to walk away again.   Amazingly he asked me if I would sell my birdcage.   I told him that maybe I would.    My friends had moved on without me so they were missing all this craziness.    He offered me $20 for the birdcage.   Quickly I made the decision and handed him the birdcage, accepting the $20 bill that he handed to me.

At this point I was near hysterical but could not lose it until I had gotten away from the whole situation.  The original dealer where I had purchased the cage had watched the whole transaction LOL!   It was all too much for me.   I ran over to Nicky and tried my best to explain why I was no longer carrying the birdcage but it was hard to even speak at this point!!!    I told Nicky she had to come back with me and try to get a picture of the birdcage.   She quickly agreed.   So Doc is now the proud owner of the birdcage and the stand!   He will probably be asking $400 for the pair now – HAHAHAHA
